1. About the App
FocusDuck is a focus-support app for Android and iOS where users record focused time while enjoying the growth of a little duck and its pond. The App currently has no proprietary account registration system and no login or synchronization service operated on the developer’s own servers. The App does not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or Sentry.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
Focus records, session counts, the optional duck name, app settings, daily goals, pond and collection progress, Exchange ownership, and locally reflected Plus status are stored primarily on the device.
The App does not include a feature that sends this data to a server independently operated by the FocusDuck developer. Deleting the App’s data or uninstalling the App deletes the data stored locally on the device.
Depending on the device’s operating-system backup settings, some of this data may be included in a backup or restoration. On Android this depends on Google / OS backup settings. On iOS this depends on iCloud or device backup settings. This is not a FocusDuck-operated cloud sync service.
3. Advertising
The free version uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to serve banner and interstitial ads. Ads are not shown to users with an active FocusDuck Plus entitlement.
Depending on the user’s consent choices, region, device settings, Google’s specifications, and applicable law, Google and parties involved in ad delivery may process information such as IP addresses, online identifiers including advertising identifiers, device information, diagnostic information, and information about ad impressions and interactions. This processing may be used for ad delivery, frequency management, measurement, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
The FocusDuck developer does not use information processed through the Google Mobile Ads SDK to build an independent user profile or to collect names, postal addresses, or email addresses, and does not operate a separate database of advertising identifiers.
4. Advertising Consent Management
The App uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). Where Google determines that consent or privacy choices must be presented, including certain circumstances in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the App displays an advertising choices form and Google’s systems manage the user’s selections. When Google determines that privacy options must remain available, users can review or change their selections through “Privacy settings” in the App’s settings screen.
On iOS, Apple’s tracking-permission mechanisms may be used depending on advertising and consent status. The App does not call the App Tracking Transparency prompt directly. Data handling by Google’s advertising services follows Google’s policies. This does not mean that FocusDuck always collects the IDFA.
5. FocusDuck Plus and Payments
Purchases of FocusDuck Plus, a one-time unlock for an ad-free experience and additional features, are processed through the store on each platform. Android uses Google Play billing. iOS uses the App Store (StoreKit). Plus is a non-consumable one-time purchase, not a subscription.
The FocusDuck developer does not directly obtain or store payment information such as credit card numbers or bank account details. The App checks the purchase status provided by the relevant store to determine whether Plus features are available. The store’s privacy policy also applies to payment information.
6. Notifications
Notifications in the App are local device notifications. The developer does not operate a push-notification server. On Android, completion notifications may involve OS permissions related to exact-time alarms. On iOS, the App uses User Notifications.
7. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following services and SDKs:
- Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK: ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and related functions
- Google User Messaging Platform: management of advertising consent and privacy choices
- Google Play / Google Play billing: Android distribution, purchase processing, entitlement checks, and restoration
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: iOS distribution, purchase processing, entitlement checks, and restoration

If the user opens an external site from reference information in the creature book or another part of the App, the privacy policy of the destination site applies.
8. Directly Identifying Information
The App currently has no feature through which the FocusDuck developer independently requests or collects the user’s name, postal address, telephone number, or email address. An optional duck name is treated as local App data.
9. Children
If a child uses the App, a parent or guardian should review this policy, the age-related information shown on the relevant store listing, and the information provided by advertising and store providers. A rating shown on one store is not stated here as a single age rule for every platform.
10. Security
Reasonable efforts are made to manage information handled by the App appropriately for the implemented features. However, complete security cannot be guaranteed across every device, operating system, network, and third-party service.
11. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be changed when the App’s features, third-party services, or applicable laws change. The revised policy will be published on this page.
